Each year on April 7th, the world celebrates World Health Day (See our Awareness Day Calendar). When I initially started to put this article together, it was business as usual, and this blog article was going to be very different. However, during the Covid 19 crisis support student wellbeing needs to become more dynamic.
Before Covid 19, we have been fortunate enough to work with King’s College London to support our student wellbeing. They have provided advice on the importance of exercise and sleep at our KS5 Wellbeing Day. Plus delivered PT sessions to our students after school weekly and also invited us to be a part of a research programme called the ‘Hype Project’ which we completed in tutor time.
If you are looking to support your students at this time and long term here are a few ideas. Maximise the use of student’s time and also encourage them to use social media positively.
I hope you have the opportunity to explore the plethora of available resources. If you have any other suggestions of organisations who are supporting student wellbeing or are providing some online resources which can help support other students, we would love to hear from you.
